The Mile High Swinging Bridge was built to give visitors access to the breath-taking view from Grandfather Mountain. The 228-foot suspension bridge spans an 80-foot chasm at more than one mile in elevation. The journey to the other side is considered the highlight of any trip. Grandfather Mountain is located at milepost 305 off the Blue Ridge Parkway.
